On Wednesday 15 September, Calcutta Brasserie in Stony Stratford celebrates its 2nd Anniversary with a special evening of live entertainment, champagne reception and exotic new dishes for the occasion.

Traditional Indian singer & musician will play throughout the evening while guests are treated to a three-course set menu specially created for this 2nd celebration. The menu, which will offer a choice of four starters; four main courses and desserts, has taken over three months to create and specific spices have been imported directly from Mumbai’s spice markets. “Its our 2nd birthday so have spent more time on this one by putting a lot of thought, creativity and chefs knowledge into the creation of each dish to make our 2nd birthday aiming to super-cede the 1st”, says the manager at Calcutta Brasserie, Mo.

To complement the meal, management have requested the services of a traditional Sitar player accompanied by a vocalist.

Since management took over the 18th century building in 2008, Calcutta Brasserie has introduced a unique menu that is unconventional to the normal ‘high street’ Indian restaurants in Milton Keynes, inspired by traditional cooking from the different regions of India. The converted chapel along with the stunning interior has undoubtedly helped see business strive through the current economic climate.

Mo says: “Through testing times in our industry, it’s extremely tough at the moment but has shown that we continue to work hard to give the best experience for our diners. Our exceptional menu and the complete experience has helped reach another milestone & will continually look to reach further the following 12 months.”

Over the past twelve months, Calcutta Brasserie has grown in abundance including winners of the MKNews Curry Award 2010 with the likes of the Butter Chicken, Tharavu Roast, Daab Chingri & least not forgetting its popular Dosa proving popular amongst many. Along with its normal services it has hosted a lavish Bollywood Ball & extravagant Michael Jackson tribute night.

The 2nd birthday celebration costs £15.95 per person and includes a champagne reception, a three course meal and live entertainment. Also for the ladies an assortment of goodies in a bag.

“I would like to thank everyone for their support over the past year especially given the difficult times but still we can’t keep our loyal, past & present, customers away!!! Our birthday event is a celebration of what we have achieved and look ahead to a promising future. We would be delighted to see familiar and new faces on this night.” Adds Mo.
