Mascot Olympics looks for beneficiary
Published - Friday, 21 January, 2011
The date for the 2011 Theatre District Mascot Olympics has been set for Saturday 11 June and organisers are asking local charities to step forward if they would like to be the main beneficiary of the event.

Between 25-30 mascots, mainly from football clubs around the UK, join in the fun and take part in 6 gruelling events throughout the day fighting to become the ultimate Olympic Champion.

The event was awarded a national award in 2008 due to its uniqueness and this year, for the first time, they are currently without a charity to support.  All money raised on the day is donated to the chosen cause and the name of the charity will be associated with the event through all media coverage including Sky Sports, who usually film the event, and every footballing website of the mascots who take part.  Ideally the charity will provide helpers
on the day and are also welcome to have as much presence as they would like.

Anyone interested in being involved with The Mascot Olympics please contact the organisers direct - sara.mills@theatre-district.co.uk.

For everyone else, make sure you have 11 June in your diary and go along and support this fantastic and very entertaining event.
