House of Fraser - complete refit

Today thecentre:mk announce that its anchor store, House of Fraser, will undergo a complete refurbishment due to complete in the Autumn. House of Fraser will be subject to a £4.5 million investment, which will create a premium shopping environment. The existing store will be significantly upgraded, boasting, a light filled and contemporary retail environment, which will enhance shoppers’ experience and reflect House of Fraser’s reputation as a premium department store.

As part of the refit guests to thecentre:mk can expect the arrival of a home department, as well as the introduction of ‘world of shoes’ and ‘world of accessories’; concepts that have proved hugely popular in House of Fraser’s flagship stores. In addition, thecentre:mk working with House of Fraser, have submitted plans to create a double-height glass fronted entrance to the store on Sunset Walk which will transform the building’s identity within the shopping centre and reflect the department store’s premium status.  

It is part of thecentre:mk’s long term strategy to revitalise the shopping offer within the centre, whilst respecting the important features of the Listed Building, so as to provide the best shopping experience to  guests at thecentre:mk.

Work is already underway at House of Fraser and will be phased over the next three months to enable House of Fraser to trade as normal. The store is to re-launch in October 2011. For further information on the House of Fraser development visit www.thecentremk.com
