Enigma expert cycling to Paris for BP

Historian Dr Mark Baldwin, who is a long-time supporter of Bletchley Park and an expert on the Enigma machine, will be cycling to Paris in March to raise funds for Bletchley Park.

The 66-year old is from Cleobury Mortimer in Shropshire.  He plans to cycle to Paris on a bike borrowed from his local post woman.  Mark’s 300 mile trip will start at Northampton on Friday 25 March, calling at Bletchley Park.  His route takes him to St Albans, through London, then down to Newhaven, where he'll catch the Dieppe ferry on Monday 28 March. A couple of days later, he should arrive in Paris.

“I'll be riding with a college friend, John Cutler, an experienced cyclist.  However, I've done little since leaving London 25 years ago, so I’m getting in a lot of road training in hilly Shropshire,” says Mark.

Mark is hoping to raise £1500 in sponsorship, to help support the ongoing work at Bletchley Park.  If anyone would like to make a donation, please go to his web page at www.justgiving.com/Mark-Baldwin0
