Christmas Storyland Adventure Parade
Published - Friday, 19 November, 2010
In 2009 over 2,000 people were in Middleton Hall at thecentre:mk, to witness Santa cutting the red ribbon to his Grotto. This year make sure you’re not at the back of the crowd, as on 19 November 2010 at 4:30pm Santa will once again parade down the malls at thecentre:mk to open his Grotto as part of this year’s Christmas Storyland Adventure.

Santa at thecentre:mkLast year over 13,000 people visited thecentre:mk during the parade, lining the sides of the malls to catch a glimpse of Santa. This year the parade will begin at 4:30pm near Marks and Spencer’s foodhall and proceed down Silbury Arcade. Alongside Santa in his red sleigh there will be his two elves, a Gingerbread man, a Snowman, a Ragdoll and two Teddy Bears all of who will entertain the crowd. For the first time ever thecentre:mk will display traditional
Christmas lights along each of the malls, which
will illuminate as Santa progresses up the arcade.

At around 5:30pm, Santa will declare his Grotto and the Christmas Storyland Adventure in Middleton Hall officially open. This year’s Christmas display is packed with scenes to delight children of all ages, from the Grande Toy Entrance and the Toymaker scene, to Magical Snowmen sitting alongside the Crystal Forest. Visitors can cross the icy bridge to meet a 3D fairy, then walk under the cascading Wishing Pool waterfall or take a traditional ride on the double decker carousel. For the more energetic, there is the Enchanted Wish Tree alcove where you can chase magical stars and jump on them to make them sparkle and ping!  Finally, take a stroll down Wishlist Lane and visit the cabins for delicious seasonal food and gifts.

With millions of visitors every year (2.8 million people visited the show in 2009) selecting a theme for Christmas show becomes increasingly challenging to top the one from the previous year. However, this year thecentre:mk has responded to UK’s desire for more traditional themes and has designed the ultimate Storyland Adventure which will rekindle the Christmas spirit, even in Scrooge himself...
