To celebrate the public holiday for that wedding the National Trust at Stowe Landscape Gardens is offering free entry on the day to anyone called Catherine or William...

If you are called Catherine or William and would like to visit the gardens for free on the day of the Royal Wedding, take along a piece of identification with your name and photograph of yourself on it.

David Brooks, property manager for the National Trust at Stowe said: “The extra public holiday is a great opportunity for anyone to get outdoors in the spring air. The gardens are a great place to have a picnic and enjoy beautiful views of the pretty lakes and wooded valleys. Here at Stowe, there is plenty of space for families to run around in. I see lots of people running around, playing hide and seek and rolling down hillsides - and that’s just the mums and dads!”

The gardens at Stowe will be open from 10.30am until 5.30pm on Friday 29 April.
