The National Trust at Stowe Landscape Gardens is asking local people to bear the charity in mind when thinking about resolutions for the year ahead.
A new visitor centre and fresh facilities are currently being built at this local National Trust place and over the next year or so there will be big changes happening at Stowe. To help this process and make sure that local people get involved the charity is looking for local people who might be able to give up a few hours a week and donate their time to help run the gardens for visitors throughout the year. If you want to find out more you can pop along to Buckingham Community Centre on Wednesday 2 February between 10am and 2pm. You can find out about volunteering at Stowe Landscape Gardens and Stowe House Preservation Trust.
‘New Inn’ is the restoration of an old coaching inn and will welcome visitors 300 years after it welcomed the very first tourists to Stowe! The New Inn will house a new visitor centre, recreated 18th century parlour rooms, restaurant, gift shop and community rooms, all part of the redevelopment of Stowe Landscape Gardens that will transform visitors’ experiences of these National Trust gardens for ever.
If you cannot attend the event, but are still interested call the National Trust on 01280 822850 and ask to speak to the Central Volunteering Team. You can also email stowe@nationaltrust.org.uk.
