World, European and British Jetski Stars from across the globe will gather from 4 -5 September at Willen Lake in Milton Keynes for the final round of this year’s National Jet Ski Championships.

Organised by the Jetsport Racing Association of Great Britain, the six round championships is regarded as being one of the best national series in the world and regularly attracts an international field of world class riders. You’ll be able to come along to this FREE event from 1pm-5pm on Saturday 4 September and 10am–5pm on Sunday 5 September.

The weekend’s entertainment will be made up of closed course racing around a buoyed circuit, with the top GP formulas reaching speeds of up to 80mph. Current British & World Champion James Bushell will be out on track defending his crown in the runabout division. Whereas 15yr old Matt Edwards trying to win his first British title amongst the adults in the Ski class, but tough competition from the Belgian Champion Renaud Urbain will make this championship decider the one to watch!

The format is simple; up to 20 riders will line up to race over a set period (anything from 8 -14mins) around a buoyed course, as the race progresses the conditions get difficult to negotiate and fatigue plays a major part – only the strongest will survive to claim the coveted title of British Champion.

But racing isn’t the only event on the itinerary as we have some top class Freestyle competition, and attending the Willen Lake event will be no less than three previous champions and the current World champion Lee Stone! Lee Stone is presently leading the points board, but tough competition from Jack Moule and new hot shot Darren Sedge will be pushing him all the way – the Freestyle competition will start a 12.30pm on Sunday. Freestyle is all about showmanship; the competitors have to impress a panel of judges within a two-minute time slot with high-speed tricks both above and below the waterline to claim the top spot!

“We are expecting over 90 riders this weekend, and with numerous championships still up for grabs the action will be thick and fast. We have both male and female competitors attending with ages ranging from just 10yrs old in the Junior divisions to over 50yrs in the Veteran classes. There will also be three divisions of racing, (Ski – the original Stand-on machine, Runabout - the sit on machine, and Sport - the single seater machine) ranging from little to no modification
through to ‘GP’ the Formula One of watercraft racing!!

Willen Lake has always been an excellent venue for Jetski racing, its beautiful surroundings and walkways give the spectators a close up view of this colourful and exciting sport and the racers just love entertaining the crowds. That’s why we are so glad to be back with the 2010 British Championships” said Lisa Barsby, JSRA events Organiser.
