Whittlebury Park launch photography competition

Date Posted:23/05/2019

As part of its recent rebrand, Whittlebury Park is launching a new photography competition, Whittlebury Though the Lens, on April 1st to showcase special moments captured by guests when they have been visiting the Northamptonshire Hotel & Spa for a day, stay or event. The team at Whitlebury are looking to engage local audiences, or those who have visited from further afield, to share their special moments that have been taken recently or over the years. Entries will be judged by professional photographer, Dan Davies, from Two-D Photography, with the chance to win monthly and annual prizes, including the winning pictures being printed and displayed at the hotel and also at a public exhibition.

The competition will be an ongoing 12-month project to picture Whittlebury in the many ways that are reflective of its rich heritage, unique location and range of facilities. Pictures from weddings and Christmas Parties, to Afternoon Tea and fine dining, can all be submitted. The categories for the competition will be; buildings, land and surrounding estate, people, wildlife, activities and events and finally food and drink.

Marc Webster, Commercial Director, commented; “Whittlebury Park is a one-of-a-kind destination. There are so many aspects to our business and over the years we have no doubt been part of a special moment, day or weekend for hundreds of people and their friends and family. We want this competition to get our guests looking back at their pictures from years ago, or indeed more recently, so we can see Whittlebury through the eyes of our visitors. We are looking forward to seeing the results and are encouraging everyone to take part."

Entrants for the competition can submit pictures directly from their phone or camera via whittlebury.com/photos in a few easy steps and Whittlebury will be sharing selected images on their social media channels too. The competition will run every month until March 2020 where a winner will be picked each month and at the end of the 12 months, Whittlebury will be showcasing some of the images received throughout the year to be part of a public exhibition. An overall winner from the winning 12 photographs will be selected to be the Whittlebury Through the Lens winner.
