Ride high Milton KeynesVisitors to the Ride High Equestrian Centre in Milton Keynes can get hands-on with the horses as they take part in pony games, grooming and have-a-go days this October half term holiday.

Set in 37 acres of countryside in Loughton, in the heart of Milton Keynes, the centre will be opening up for half term fun from Monday 22nd October – Friday 2nd November. In addition to the usual busy timetable of riding lessons and pony experiences on offer, visitors of all ages and ability will be able to try their hand at everything from grooming to pony agility sessions during the two weeks.

For children aged 5 - 7 years the popular Pony Hour returns, running Thursday 25th and Monday 29th October, and Friday 2nd November. Ideal for beginners, children will get to enjoy an experience with the Ride High ponies on the ground and in the saddle in these special one-hour sessions. They’ll learn what it takes to look after a pony and have a 30-minute riding lesson with the experienced instructors.

Another returning and popular activity on the equestrian centre roster is Have-a-Go Pony Fun, running on Thursday 1st November. This innovative two-hour session includes a riding lesson, pony care, and offers participants the opportunity to challenge themselves and their new pony pal in a group agility session.

The programme tops off with the ever-popular Pony Experience Days, offering more experienced children the opportunity to spend a day on the yard as an equestrian trainee.

Joanna Fay, Managing Director of the Ride High Equestrian Centre, said: “Since we first launched our school holiday activities back in May we’ve been delighted with the response from visitors, some who were totally new to horses when they first came for a Pony Hour and are now some of our regular riders. We want everyone to feel welcome here and look forward to saying hello to visitors new and old this October half term.”
