MK Gallery

Award-winning MK Gallery offers world-class exhibitions and events, together with pioneering learning and engagement programmes.

Inspired by the unique design history of Milton Keynes, renowned architects 6a, in collaboration with artists Gareth Jones and Nils Norman, redesigned MK Gallery doubling its footprint and making it an iconic feature of the City's skyline.

Since reopening in 2019 the art gallery has welcomed more than 150,000 visitors to its critically acclaimed exhibitions, expanding its remit to show historic as well as contemporary shows from George Stubbs: ‘all done from nature’ to Memphis: A Plastic Field.
Its magnificent Sky Room offers stunning views over Campbell Park and beyond. This multi-functional auditorium is home to the Sky Room Cinema which screens the best contemporary in film as well as family favourites and blockbusters. Film goers are welcome to buy snacks and hot/cold drinks as well as wine and beer from the Café and take them into the cinema. The Sky Room is available for hire and has hosted diverse events including music, dance, talks, corporate functions, conferences, weddings, and the BBC’s Newsnight.

Locals know all about the Gallery Café, offering freshly made soups, sandwiches, salads and freshly-made cakes. Provenance is key to the Café team – the coffee beans are roasted four miles down the road, and the artisan ice cream is made five miles up the road.

The Gallery Shop champions local and international designers, authors, and artists. The shelves are stocked with creatively curated items selected by a team passionate about giving visitors the opportunity to purchase something special whether it is for themselves or as a gift. For those who prefer the ease of shopping online, customers can browse the Shop’s shelves virtually.

For children and families there are Art Clubs for five- to 11-year-olds, Family Fun Weekends and creative holiday activities as well as many other exhibition-inspired programmes throughout the year such as MK Young Sculptor Award. Next to the Gallery is the City Club Playscape – an artist-designed play area open 365 days a year for children to play, learn and enjoy.
