Welcome to Business Matters MK - December 2017.

We’re now drawing to the end of MK50 a year of celebrations for Milton Keynes’ 50th Birthday – and it’s been a busy time for corporate and conference work at Destination Milton Keynes.

We’re delighted to have played host last month to the Independent Street Artists Network, who used some of our more unexpected conferencing venues for their annual conference. We’ve also had a lot of investment in the hotel and conference centre industry in the city, not least the multi-million-pound refurbishment of an established venue. You can read more about these stories below.

ISANISAN Makes Waves in Milton Keynes

The Independent Street Artists Network chose MK as the location for their annual conference – Making Waves 2017 – and enlisted Destination Milton Keynes as their conference agency. ISAN were keen to engage with the City as it celebrated MK50, and so chose Destination Milton Keynes as the DMO for the city to enable them to be placed right at the heart of the action.

The conference ran on 27th and 28th November and was held primarily at the iconic Stables Theatre in Wavendon, owned by the legendary Cleo Laine. This venue lent itself perfectly to the off-beat nature of the business at hand and proved to be an ideal conference venue for those looking for something unexpected and out of the ordinary. Other locations and partners included Festive Road, Jurys Inn and Doubletree by Hilton.

Destination Milton Keynes ran a bespoke online booking system for ISAN which enabled degelgates to book their conference passes. It also offered a bespoke hotel booking service which allowed delegates to book into rooms which had been allocated at a specific rate. We offer bespoke branded booking systems for conference bookings and would love to meet you to discuss yours.

Other services which DMK provided for this conference included coach and shuttle bus booking and management, telephone enquiry lines for delegates and venue management. We provide a one-stop service for your conferencing needs – we’d love to discuss yours over a coffee – why not drop us a line and we can get together.
